Brief description of my Organisation
The Compound Semiconductor Applications Catapult (CSAC) is the youngest Catapult in the Network set up in South Wales to help industry exploit the significant advances made by UK researchers over the past two decades. The CSAC provides translational research facilities to accelerate the commercialisation of Compound Semiconductors in key application areas including healthcare, the digital economy, energy, transport, defence and security, and space. Its objective is to bridge the gap between companies developing novel semiconductor materials, topologies and devices, and those developing systems for end-user applications. The Catapult focuses on technology areas where compound semiconductors outperform their silicon counterparts. These areas include Power Electronics; RF and Microwave technologies; Photonics and Sensing and Advance Packaging. Critically, the CSAC acts as the ‘glue’ in the development of compound semiconductor-based applications.
